Other reported detail: The first of the British vso. Anthony's father lived in Hampshire as did Jeremy Allertons father. Initially, Anthony likely boarded in Nain where he was employed by the International Grenfell Association, spending six months as an outside worker for the Grenfell TB Survey because of Revd. Fred Grubb's first stroke. His precise role would not have been agreed until after his arrival. If it had included teaching then it may have only been for a lesson or two at Nain School where David Bethel may have been the Headteacher. It seems that the second half of Anthony's service, from about March-August 1961 was spent teaching Science at NW River High School. It was because NW River High needed a Science teacher and somebody who could play their organ or piano that Revd. Bill Peacock, Moravian School Board probably took up the offer from Tony Paddon, IGA to hire Anthony. The many photographs that were taken of Anthony at work on the Indian side where the Catholic Oblate Fathers/ Priests also served, show him in the main settlement hub of NW River with its cable car spaning the river.
